Blogging regularly is like eating spinach. You know it's the right thing to do to build visibility and credibility but it's so easy to find excuses not to do so on a regular basis. To inspire me to keep on blogging, I've found myself bookmarking posts about remarkable people who have achieved incredible success in life when they had ample opportunities to stop trying. A recent post entitled "What Your Excuse for Not Achieving Your Goals?" on Copyblogger, an excellent blog for learning how to increase website traffic, links, subscribers, and profit, provides inspiring examples of famous people who pushed through difficulties to succeed. It motivates me to stick to my blogging and other New Year's goals when I start thinking about reasons to do otherwise.
If you're a blogger, what helps keep you going strong?

Online business has been the tipping point for our business based on your regular advice. The biggest point I tell my peers is that getting to the top of Google is pointless without a good website, and realistically, a dynamic well written blog. Half to three quarters of our internet leads reference that they enjoyed reading our blog. It makes the difference for sure and any business owner that is unwilling to commit 30 minutes a week to blogging has their priorities wrong and will likely continue to see a decrease in market share.

Hey Scott,
Nice hearing from you. I always use you and your online marketing example to inspire others - especially people in the building trades to give social media a try. You're absolutely right that just 30 minutes of time spent a week on blogging can make a huge difference in boosting visibility, credibility, and, ultimately, sales. Keep up the great work!
Best,
Patrick
