Since its inception in 1996, the Alliance of Chief Executives has developed an outstanding reputation as an organization that provides opportunities for business leaders in Northern California to share their unique knowledge and experience.
The Alliance has grown mostly through the word-of-mouth of satisfied members who have communicated the benefits of membership to peers. With well-established monthly summits as well as a strong organizational infrastructure, the Alliance hired Galvin Communications to increase its visibility among business leaders and to position its comparative advantages versus competitive business groups.
Galvin Communications began working with the Alliance at the same time that the trial of disgraced Enron CEO Ken Lay was making headline news. We positioned Alliance founder Paul Witkay as a credible counterpoint to the media’s fascination with “crooked CEOs,” and used his experience working with hundreds of hard-working, ethical business leaders to argue that rogues are the exception, not the rule. We also used the Alliance’s 10th anniversary as an opportunity to invite the local business press to take a closer look at the organization and its individual members.
Through the efforts of Galvin Communications, the Alliance of Chief Executives was featured on the front page (July 26, 2007) of the Wall Street Journal, the most influential business publication in the country. The article continues to serve as a valuable recruitment and retention tool.
Pitching Paul Witkay’s extensive business expertise, we secured an appearance on KGO Radio’s “Ron Owens Show (810 AM),” the number one talk radio program in the Bay Area. Paul discussed the reputation of CEOs and the benefits of the Alliance. He also appeared on KGO Radio’s “Pete Wilson Show (810 AM)” and KNBR Radio’s “Gary Allen on Business (680 AM),” the premier business talk radio show in Northern California.
In the print media, Paul’s comments on leadership were published as guest articles in the East Bay Business Times, the San Francisco Business Times, the Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal, the Sacramento Business Journal, and California CEO. In addition, the Alliance of Chief Executives was profiled in-depth by the Contra Costa Times and the San Francisco Chronicle.
